God reminds Israel that because He chose them as His people, they are especially accountable for their sins. Amos uses a series of cause-and-effect examples to show that God's warning of judgment is not without reason. He declares that the Lord reveals His plans through His prophets and warns that Israel's injustice, oppression, and rebellion have brought about coming punishment.
